"Tech Convergence for Future Cities" Presented on the LEAP 2024 Main Stage

NAVER LABS CEO Sang-ok Seok delivered a keynote speech on "Tech Convergence for Future Cities" at LEAP 2024, held in Saudi Arabia. Hosted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia, LEAP is a global IT exhibition that is often referred to as the Saudi version of CES. With last year's attendance reaching 170,000 participants, it has experienced significant growth, surpassing CES in its number of participants.

During his keynote speech on the second day, Seok shared the vision of future smart cities based on NAVER's global technological competitiveness in areas such as AI, robotics, autonomous driving, cloud, Digital Twin, and XR.

"One of the reasons behind NAVER’s growth into a global tech company is the capacity to internalize all technologies. In 1784, NAVER’s headquarters, about 5000 employees are currently working across the 28 floors of 1784, coexisting with our one hundred robots every single day. And now, we aim to create city-level, that is, smart city-level, robot services." he stated.

Seok also introduced the world's first web platform-based robot OS "ARC mind" and the development of a next-generation robotics edge computing platform in collaboration with Samsung Electronics' System LSI Division as part of the company’s aim to accelerate the popularization of robots.

"ARC mind will bring forth the popularization of robots, by enabling web developers to create countless robot services and ensuring high compatibility." he stated.

NAVER has set up an exhibition space in the Big Tech Pavilion under the theme of a "Global Tech Convergence Company,” showcasing technologies such as AI, the cloud, and robotics to attract visitors and partners from over 180 countries worldwide. The exhibition runs until the 7th local time.
