Digital twin is often mentioned as a key technology to determine the competitiveness of future cities and nations. The reason is because digital twin, combined with spatial infrastructure can lead to many diverse opportunities to grow and advance a city.
NAVER LABS is starting a global digital twin collaboration with LX and NAVER Cloud. The 3 companies signed an MOU on July 3rd at NAVER’s 1784 headquarters, to expand the global digital twin creation business.
Using ALIKE, a solution that creates highly precise, city-level digital data using aerial images and AI, NAVER LABS will provide support in establishing many global applications. NAVER Cloud will support the stable operation and expansion of various services and technologies with its highly stable and secure NAVER Cloud Platform. LX will share its know-how on using the digital twin-based LX platform to address city and land related issues.
Jongyoon Peck, Leader of NAVER LABS’ Autonomous Driving Group says “NAVER is participating in multiple collaborations both domestically and internationally, with its unrivaled digital twin technology,” adding that “we will continue to advance digital twin technology which is the foundation for creating smart city platform ecosystems.”
With the previously announced collaboration with K-Water and the recent MOU with LX, NAVER will continue expanding global digital twin projects. There are high expectations for the synergy that will be created with the experts in each field.
