NAVER 1784 Tech Convergence Exhibition - Digital Twin Section

The Tech Convergence exhibition exhibition is held on the 2nd floor of NAVER 1784, the world’s first robot-friendly building. This exhibition is divided into two sections: the Digital Twin section and the Robot section.

The guide below will help you to fully enjoy the Digital Twin section of the exhibition.

DIGITAL TWIN

Introduction

The 1784 building exists in the digital world as well as in our physical world through digital twin technology, which replicates reality. NAVER has been intensifying its research on digital twin technology since 2016, and now possesses solutions that enable the creation of large-scale digital twins covering entire cities and buildings.

ALIKE Solution

NAVER’s digital twin solution is named “ALIKE.” Its key feature is that it transfers vast spaces encompassing interiors, exteriors, and entire cities onto the cloud, by utilizing aerial photography, AI and various mapping devices. The ALIKE solution is now being utilized in multiple fields, having garnered interest from many countries and institutions. In 2020, 600,000 buildings throughout Seoul were constructed in 3D, and a total of 2,092 km of roads with four or more lanes were recreated to precise detail, down to the lanes and road markings. This solution is also being utilized in robots, autonomous driving, smart buildings, smart cities, AR/VR, etc.

Diverse Mapping Devices

NAVER LABS internally develops and produces multiple mapping devices for creating digital twins. The R series are on-road devices, the M series are mapping robots, the T series are wearable mapping devices applied to complex spaces like stairs, and the P series are panoramic mapping systems.

NAVER's Digital Twin Services

NAVER’s digital twin technology is commercialized on NAVER CLOUD Platform, and sequentially being applied to services like NAVER Map Street View and NAVER Real Estate Service.

Tech Convergence

Digital twins are connected to robots via the NAVER CLOUD Platform. With this process, all of our robots share a massive brain and become increasingly smarter. NAVER seamlessly merges the real and digital worlds through digital twins, robots, and the cloud.
